About SurePlus

About SurePlus

Sureplus is a social enterprise startup that rescues surplus food in order to minimize food wastage & hunger in Davao City.

The Problem

The Problem

In the Philippines, over 13 million people struggle to afford three meals a day, despite the nation wasting about 308,000 tons of food annually. Globally, one-third of food is wasted while 820 million people suffer from malnutrition. This imbalance is a critical issue that needs immediate attention.

Our Solution

Through our website and upcoming app, we offer a practical solution to this problem. By purchasing excess food at lower prices and directing food subsidies to those in need, we make a tangible impact. Additionally, part of our proceeds supports our partner charities, further amplifying our efforts.

Our Strategy

Resell

Excess food from local farmers, groceries, and restaurants is sold at reduced prices to consumers, ensuring that quality food reaches those who need it without going to waste.

Repurpose

Some of the surplus food is creatively repurposed into new products or meals. This approach not only minimizes waste but also introduces innovative, cost-effective food options to the market.

Reallocate

Sureplus works closely with charities and food banks to reallocate food to those in need. By redirecting surplus food to the underprivileged, we ensure that it serves a valuable purpose, helping to alleviate hunger in our communities.
